Kingston Rollerski Results

The 6th Annual Kingston Rollerski Races turned to be another great success thanks to the sponsors who really came through with prizes and awards and the many skiers and fans who took part in the event. Although the total number of racers was down a little from last year (94 this year to 104 in 2008), the competition was tough (2 new course records set), the team competition close and the number of spectators more than ever.

I want to start by thanking the many sponsors without whom the awards would not have been possible. Toko, Nathan, Accelerade, V2, Polar, EarMitts, Alpina, Salomon, Nikwax and Spiuk. Locally, there was Catskill Mountain Multisport, Dick's Sporting Goods, the Hudson Valley School of Massage Therapy, State Farm Insurance, Hannaford, Hudson Valley Foot Associates, and the Ulster Savings Bank. I know everyone can purchase their equipment from many different companies and stores. However, these are the companies and businesses that stepped up to help with the race and supported the Kingston Nordic Ski Team. I hope that when you have a choice, you choose one of our sponsors. If you get the opportunity, let them know that you appreciate their support of the Kingston Rollerski Races.

I also need to express my most sincere gratitude to the many parents of the Kingston nordic skiers who provided all the food. We didn't run out this year and without them we would have gone hungry. THANKS.
