The fifth annual Section IX Summer Rollerski Camp is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, June 30, 2009. Janice Sibilia, from the New England Nordic Ski Association, will be the primary coach working with the athletes on Tuesdays from 6 - 8pm at the Highland railtrail. On Thursdays, the group will meet at S. Truth Park on Plains Road in New Paltz with Allan Serrano, most recently the head nordic ski coach at the University of Vermont, working with the campers on a couple of occasions.
Ski technique will be the primary focus of the summer with strength, flexibility, and nutrition also covered. Video analysis of each skier's technique will be used to help each camper learn to ski more efficiently.
